We have represented thousands of individuals in large fires all over the state of California, and we have experience specific to high value recoveries in major fire cases. We currently represent over 2,000 individuals in the Butte Fire lawsuit, which was a catastrophic fire started by PG&E power lines that burned over 70,000 acres in Calaveras and Amador counties. We recently represented the largest individual group of plaintiffs in the 2013 Powerhouse Fire in Los Angeles County, and Gerald Singleton served as Liaison Counsel for that case. In 2016, we resolved the Powerhouse Fire for a joint settlement of $103 million.
Prior to the Powerhouse Fire, Singleton Law Firm was one of four firms who teamed up in a joint venture to represent over 1,600 individuals in the 2007 San Diego Fires. This was the largest fire case in the history of California and ultimately resulted in settlements to the individual plaintiffs of over $1 billion.
Although we specialize in high value cases, we represent individuals and business with all types of damages. We have a network of experts who are available to assist us with the investigations necessary to identify the source and cause of a fire in order to determine liability. We have extensive experience and success negotiating out-of-court settlements with insurance companies and other defendants and preparing and litigating all types of fire claims in California courts.
Due to the magnitude of the Napa and Sonoma Fires (including the Tubbs Fire in Santa Rosa and the Atlas Peak Fire in Napa), we are teaming up with the national law firm of Baron and Budd, PC, to jointly represent victims of the 2017 Northern California fires. As well as the most recent Thomas, Creek, and Rye Fires.
